The crazy man shown above approached me while I was attending Joe McNally's class at the Lepp Institute. He had no fewer than *twelve* flash units all being triggered using TTL via radio poppers. Using this setup, we were able to shoot using high speed sync at 1/8000 of a second and turn daylight into night time. Go check out Syl's blog for more info on the setup and to see what it looked like when shooting from the other side of the flashes.

Pretty wicked display of the power of the poppers! Glad you and Syl put this together and both posted it ... was even more impressive to see it in person there at Lepp. BTW - Thanks for all of your help there last week and look forward to attending one of your courses on '009!

No shots actually taken with this setup? Neat construction, but what's the effect?

Question,
I have been reading about all these poppers. Great stuff.
I am trying to get light on each frame at 10 frames a second (Canon 1D mark III). Usually need to shot at 1/500 to stop the blur.
Do you think a series of 580's,with a stagger fire time might work?
any oter suggestions?
