Badlands Dinosaur Egg?

To my eye this collection of pieces looked like a shattered dinosaur egg.
You can see a basic shape on the left and then extra pieces on the right. I shot this photograph while exploring the Badlands in South Dakota.

Processing Notes: I processed this image using Adobe Lightroom and then opened the result into Photoshop as a Smart Object. I then created a second smart object of the raw data and used different settings for split toning so that one layer had a warm feel and the other a cool feeling. I then added a mask to limit where the cool version appeared.
