Photo From Neon Graveyard

Neondetail

Above is a photo I took at the Neon Graveyard in Las Vegas. I really liked the shattered bulbs all piled up in the corner. This is a three-shot HDR image processed in Photomatix Pro with further adjustment in Photoshop.

If you'd like to learn how to transform your images by incorporating High Dynamic Range imaging (that's what I used), then consider taking my new on-line course on HDR. Use "Ben" as a coupon code to receive a 15% discount.

Nice! The shattered bulbs really make the shot. The whole thing looks like the face of a very strange, but rather friendly, monster.

Today I downloaded the trial of Photomatrix, and, because I had no images with bracketed exposures, I opened a photo into PSCS2 and saved it with 3 different fake exposures (using Brightness/Contrast). Then I processed those 3 images in Photomatrix, expecting nothing much to happen. But after using Zone Mapping, wow! What a difference from the original image. Colors are vibrant and there's more detail overall. I'm glad you mentioned Photomatrix!

Because I only have dial-up, I am unable to take your course. But I'm very interested in the content. You mentioned earlier that a DVD might be forthcoming on this. Any timeline? I guess you'll mention it here when it comes out?
