Thanks Jason...
Right when we were giving up and ready to pack everything up is when we had the most cars zoom by... it was about 10pm. The tree in the foreground is lit by light painting with a flashlight and a 30-60 second exposure.

Mine is June 18th! anyway, question...what type of flashlight is used for painting. I understand the concept, is there a technique to moving the flashlight on the object/subject? And, was it more like 60 seconds?or 30?

Hey, I tried painting with a flashlight just the other day. My living room walls don't seem to have chnaged much. What am I doing wrong? :)
Enjoy the journey!

Happy Belated B-day Janet!
Any old flashlight should do... but it would be best to use one that allows you to control how wide the beam is. I maglite would be an OK choice.
I think the exposure was 30 seconds for most of the shots. I might have used 60 once it started to get really dark.
I just panned the flashlight around the object as if I was tracing it from afar.
Paul: Make sure your living room is dark enough to warrant a long exposure and you should see the results... if you're not seeing enough, then change the aperature setting to a smaller number to allow more light into the lens.
