The Luminous Landscape has an on-line article on Photoshop CS2's new High Dynamic Range Imaging feature. It allows you to merge multiple exposures into a single image and then adjust the overall brightness and contrast to obtain an image that contains a wider dynamic range than you could capture in a single shot.
